ECAL trigger performance in Run 2 and improvements for Run 3

چکیده
The CMS electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) is a high resolution crystal operating at the CERN LHC. It read out 40 MHz (the proton-proton collision rate) in order to provide information hardware-level (Level-1) trigger system, which decides whether full detector must be for each collision. ECAL performance achieved during LHC Run 2 (2015-2018) will presented. increased luminosity with respect 1 has required frequent calibrations operation account radiation-induced changes and photodetector response. Further improvements energy time reconstruction of primitives are being explored 3 (2022-24), using additional features implemented on-detector readout. In this presentation, we review present system 3.

Performance of the ATLAS Muon Trigger in Run I and Upgrades for Run II
The ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has taken data at a centre-of-mass energy between 900 GeV and 8 TeV during Run I (2009-2013). The LHC delivered an integrated luminosity of about 20 fb−1 in 2012, which required dedicated strategies to ensure the highest possible physics output while effectively reducing the event rate. The Muon High Level Trigger has successfully adapted ...
متن کاملSwing- and support-related muscle actions differentially trigger human walk-run and run-walk transitions.
There has been no consistent explanation as to why humans prefer changing their gait from walking to running and from running to walking at increasing and decreasing speeds, respectively. This study examined muscle activation as a possible determinant of these gait transitions. Seven subjects walked and ran on a motor-driven treadmill for 40s at speeds of 55, 70, 85, 100, 115, 130 and 145% of t...
متن کاملImprovements to ATLAS Track Reconstruction for Run II
Run II of the LHC will provide new challenges to track and vertex reconstruction with higher energies, denser jets and higher rates. A major change to the Inner Detector layout during the shutdown period has been the installation of the Insertable B-Layer, a fourth pixel layer located at a radius of 33 mm. This contribution discusses improvements to track reconstruction developed during the two...

APPENDIX 1. DATA I follow Christiano, Eichenbaum, and Vigfusson (2003) and use BLS data on hours and labor productivity for the business economy. The BLS population data have occasional discrete jumps: When the BLS obtains new information on the population (e.g., at decennial censuses), it does not revise previous data. I use a series adjusted at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago that smoothe...
